Lena Pillars Nature Park is in Central Yakutia, in the middle course of the river Lena. The park received its name from a unique ridge of rocks in the form of pillars and towers some up to 100 meters high that stretch along the Lena for tens of kilometers.
The natural park «Lena Pillars» is known far outside of Yakutia. In a bizarre shape of pillars it is possible to see colonnades, towers, arches, and cathedrals.
Many species of rare animals and plants are found in the territory of the park. Remains of mammoths, bison and other prehistoric animals remind of ancient times fauna.
Lena Pillars were included by natural criteria into the list of the World heritage of UNESCO on July 2, 2012. The whole territory in the limits of the Lena Pillars Nature Park is provided with professional guarding by the Park administration and the staff on the basis of laws and decrees of the Governments of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Sakha.
